How to Clean a Faux Fur Throw Pillow

Faux fur pillows are easily damaged by improper cleaning techniques. Heat may melt the fibers, while too much water may ruin some kinds of artificial fur and will cause matting.

Utilize a moderate Touch

To freshen the pillow without using water, rub some cornstarch on it or place it and shake it all about. Allow the cornstarch brush off it or sit on the pillow for approximately 5 minutes and then shake. For spills or spots, use mild detergent and a damp rag to the pillow. Rub gently, taking care to not mat or tangle the fibers. Wipe any detergent using a clean damp rag , fluff the fibers and then allow it to air dry. If the pillow needs cleaning, then check the tag. If it’s oil, then wash the pillow or at the system on the gentle cycle with a mild detergent. Once it’s been cleaned, fluff the furry fibers and hang or lay it out to dry. Do not put at the drier. A little bit of heat can melt or permanently mat the fibers. In the event the artificial fur is made than acrylic, it will have to be dry cleaned.
