The way to Cover an Ugly Backyard Fence

An unattractive fence runs down the rest of the yard, but replacing the landscape feature may be costly and tedious. In case a new fence isn’t in the budget, then upgrades may make the structure less noticeable allowing additional landscaping components to take center stage. Several options for updating the fence may work individually or collectively. Making the fence blend in with the shifting landscape round is vital to camouflaging it.

Paint the fence a dark, neutral color, like brown, to blend it in with the rest of the landscape.

Cover some or all of the fence sections using another fencing material, such as bamboo or metal panels. Expand these substances directly to the present fence.

Plant vines across the base of the fence so they grow up the construction, hiding it using foliage.

Grow tall plants facing the fence. Select ornamental grasses, such as Bigelow’s bear grass or San Diego sedge, that develop a few feet high and require little maintenance.

Position structures at the yard to hide sections of this fence. As an example, place large planters, a tall water feature or a trellis near the fence to block the view in the yard.

Hang ornamental pieces on the fence to cover a part of this construction, such as mosaic tile designs, hanging pots, wooden garden signs and holiday lights or decorations.
