Bissell CleanView II Troubleshooting

The Bissell CleanView II uses cyclonic activity to suck up dirt. While it features an easy-to-empty dirt container, and a one-year limited comprehensive warranty when bought new, you may encounter problems from time to time. Whether it won’t start if you turn it on, it fails to pickup, or it becomes hard to push, it usually takes just a few small adjustments to get your vacuum back in working order.

Stumped on Starting

If the vacuum won’t turn on, there likely is an issue with its power source. Ensure its power cord is plugged to an functional outlet. If the vacuum still doesn’t run, examine your home’s fuse box or circuit breaker. Replace a blown fuse or reset the breaker as necessary. If your CleanView II won’t start and there’s absolutely no issue with the fuse box or circuit breaker, examine the Static power cord itself for damage such as a nick or exposed wires, and then contact Bissell if it’s damaged.

Doesn’t Pick Up

When your Bissell Cleanview II neglects to pick up dirt, then there are several possible troubles. First assess the Powerfoot/rotating floor brush to make sure its height adjustment is correct. It should be in the bottom setting for bare floors; the medium setting for short- and also medium-pile carpets; and also the highest setting for plush-pile carpeting. Check the dirt container in the front of the appliance. The vacuum won’t pick up dirt when the container is complete. In addition, it may fail to pick up debris in case the hose isn’t connected to the suction opening. Ensure a snug fit by grabbing the quick-reach manage in the left side of the vacuum and firmly pushing the hose wand to the suction opening. If the hose is set properly, examine it for holes and cracks, and replace it if necessary. Your Cleanview II can fail to pick up dirt when there is a clog in the vacuum. Unplug the appliance, empty the dirt container and examine the upper tank and louvers; the twist-and-snap hose; suction; hose; bend hand; and foot hose for any debris that could be causing a shake.

Dirt Diving

If you observe dirt escaping as you vacuum, the dirt container could be installed incorrectly. Remove it and reinsert it to make sure it’s securely in place. Dirt can escape out of the vacuum in the event the container is complete. If the dirt container is set and empty however dirt still escapes, there may be an issue with the filters. Make sure that the outer and inner circular filters in the base of the canister, and also the pre-motor and post-motor filters in the side of the canister are in place and clean of debris.

Muscling that the Vacuum

When you have trouble pushing your vacuum, the height adjustment may not be set properly. As an instance, if you are vacuuming a plush-pile carpet along with the Powerfoot is set to the lowest height setting, then it’ll be exceedingly difficult to push the appliance. Turn the knob in the front of the vacuum’s base to the right setting for the surface you are cleaning. You may have trouble pushing the vacuum when the brush cap is installed incorrectly. Check that all four screws are in place on the cover on conventional models, or all three latches are secured on wide-cleaning-path models.
